NEW SHOW! (Jan 02)

We've heard a whisper about upcoming auditions for a new show that Ceol Chiarrai Productions are working on, as well as for the two existing shows (see below) Daire Nolan has been appointed Dance Director with the company and will be responsible for choreography, auditioning, recruiting etc.You probably remember Daire for his portrayal of Don Dorcha, the Dark Lord in Lord of the Dance, where he certainly gave Mr Flatley something to think about! He went on to join "To Dance on the Moon" a Ceol Chiarrai production. As head of the creative team he will be choreographer for Ceol Chiarrai Productions new show which is to premier in Paris in June 2002. The auditions for both the new show and for the existing shows will be held on January 5th 2002 at the South Court Hotel, Limerick City, Ireland at 12 Noon. Both full time and seasonal work is said to be available

James McCutcheon will be holding auditions for the following : 1. To Dance on the Moon primarily for Troupe 2 for Ireland, although he will have to substitute for some places for Australia -- the TDOTM tour starts in Sydney in March 01 2. Spirit of Ireland 3. The new show, rehearsals starting in June in Kerry, Ireland. The auditions will be held on Sunday, 11 February 01, in Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland, the day immediately after the All-Ireland Championships. Please send a cover letter detailing availability (how soon and for what duration -- he can offer both short-term and long-term contracts), the name of your dance teacher(s) and corresponding number of years instruction. He'd like your CV included, stating obvious personal details, and any information about your dancing
career to date, such as previous show/TV/theatrical experience. Reference should be made to any other type of dance experience you may have had besides Irish dance. In addition, please include a full-length picture in regular clothing, not Irish dance costume.

James writes : "I believe in auditioning anybody who wants to try - I think it is important not to discard anybody without first giving them the equal opportunity of presenting themselves to their best. (You can get a very wrong impression from photographs, videos and written words.) Everybody learns from auditions -- both the people being auditioned and the person conducting the audition."

He does not expect to receive videos from everyone, except for those who live too far away to travel to the auditions in Ennis next month. E-mail him at: JMccutcheo@aol.com Correspondence should be sent directly to : Mr. J. McCutcheon 42 Wellwood Street, Muirkirk, Ayrshire, Scotland, KA18 3QX, UK
