Well, this week has been
very busy!
First of all I had the Doherty Feis on Saturday.
On Monday I went to an extra Irish Dancing class
over in Bedford. It's about twenty miles!
I also had rehearsals for the school Christmas
play!
I then went to my normal Wednesday class also in
Bedford.
On Thursday, I attended my usual class which is
about Five miles away in Wellingborough, so it's
a lot easier!
Friday night is Ballet & Tap night!
This Friday though I also had an extra Irish
Dancing lesson for a dancing display at a local
Catholic Church Club on Saturday night. We've
appeared there before and they liked us so much
that they've asked us back. Apparently it's an
event to raise money for a local charity.
The display went wrong!
Kirsty and Jodie's mum had been put in
charge of the music because Eamonn was unable to
attend.
We all lined up and the music for the first
section, a Reel, started. Halfway through the
dance there was a funny noise and the music
stopped! We weren't too worried because some of
Eamonn's tapes do that for a second, and then
keep going. Unfortunately not this time!
The tape had become caught in the mechanism and
was all tangled and chewed up! For a moment it
seemed like a disaster but fortunately my Dad had
asked Sarah's mum to bring a spare tape player
and Dad had brought several spare tapes and we
were able to muddle through with him searching
for the right music between sections.
Unfortunately he played the wrong music for
Natasha when she did a solo dance so she had to
start again!
And then he didn't have the music at all for a
solo dance that Patrick was meant to do, but
Patrick was brave enough to dance
the whole thing without music at all! What a
trooper! He got a big cheer when he finished.
At the end Kirsty's mum got us all to introduce
ourselves on the microphone and when she got to
Patrick (or Patch as we call him) he gave his
name as Michael Flatley!!!
Everybody laughed and cheered!
What a hectic life it is being a dancer!!!
